Second place in the category "Land and Nature Tourism" for the late riser tours.

With the "late riser tours" The Seenland Oder-Spree tourism association won second place in the pro agro marketing award in the “rural and nature tourism” category. As part of the International Green Week, managing director Ellen Rußig and marketing employee Marie Kessler accepted the award from Agriculture Minister Axel Vogel and pro agro managing director Kai Rückewold on the first day of the fair.

The adventures for those who have had enough sleep, which have now been awarded the silver medal, went on sale in spring last year after a complex conception. In keeping with the motto "The early bird can go to hell", a total of 33 late-riser tours were developed, which take city-weary people out into the water-rich lake district by public transport in the afternoon. The half-day tours can be undertaken by bike, on foot, in a canoe or on a SUP and are both relaxing and exciting.

The late riser tours make an important contribution to networking and making the regional suppliers and producers along the routes visible. "Regionality and supporting our producers is particularly important to us and so we always strive to ensure that not only tourists but also the people of Brandenburg themselves benefit from our products and that added value is brought to our destination," says Ellen Rußig.

Third place in this category also went to the Oder-Spree Lake District. The Oderbruch Municipal Cultural Heritage Working Group is delighted to receive the award. This recognizes the long-standing commitment of the Cultural Heritage Initiative made up of volunteers, which led to the award of the European Cultural Heritage Label in 2022. The pro agro association received a total of 36 applications in the three categories of rural and nature tourism, direct marketing and the food industry.
