Night watchman tour of the Altlandsberg Castle Estate followed by beer tasting

In 1658, Otto von Schwein had the Altlandsberg estate built. The future King Frederick I spent his youth here - a truly royal place to spend a day in a historical atmosphere in comfort.

Schlossgut erleben

At the tourist information office you will meet Ulrich Handke, the traditionally costumed night watchman of Altlandsberg. During a leisurely stroll through the castle estate with its easy-to-walk paths and several places to sit, the night watchman will tell you a wealth of information about the history of the historic site. Together you will follow in the footsteps of Otto von Schwerin, who, as a diplomat and first minister of the Electorate of Brandenburg, was of crucial importance in the creation of the Prussian state. Another illustrious resident of the castle was the first Prussian King Frederick I, who acquired the castle estate and the Altlandsberg lordship in 1708.

Beer tasting

At the end of the tour, you will stop off at the cozy tourist information center and taste three beer specialties from the Altlandsberg brewery and distillery. In the castle restaurant, you can view the brewing kettles. Here, you also have the opportunity to purchase culinary delicacies from the region. How about a glass of Wriezen mustard from the Oderbruch or handmade beer pralines made from the castle's own copper beer?
