The car can be conveniently parked in the free parking lot “Schlossstraße” directly at Storkow Castle. 

From here you have a fantastic first view of the historic castle complex. 

Start at the tourist information and first refreshment

During your visit to the Storkow Tourist Information Center you can obtain further information and also use the barrier-free toilets. 

You can enjoy delicious refreshments in the castle's ground-floor café, the Burgstübchen, with home-baked cakes. 

Castle and Nature Park Exhibition - ROOTED - Soil Episodes Between Origin and Future

On a comfortable walk you can wander through selected parts of the castle: the old castle, the castle tower and the castle courtyard. 

The barrier-free interactive exhibition is highly recommended. Spread across three floors, accessible by elevator, exhibits such as the "Glacier Tunnel", the "Soil Laboratory" and the "Cabinet of Curiosities" make geological, ecological and cultural connections tangible and vivid. 

The multimedia exhibition makes the ground the storyteller and opens up a completely new perspective on the history of the region between Oder, Dahme and Spree as well as on the special features of the Dahme-Heideseen Nature Park.

We also recommend the small, level circular path around the castle with attractive views of the nature park.

Via Schlossstraße you reach the historic market square ("Am Markt") with some attractive specialty shops, e.g. watches, shoes or flowers. 

During the summer months, the weekly market (Mondays and Fridays, 8 a.m. to 16 p.m.) is an attraction. 

There is a public, barrier-free toilet on the market square right next to the savings bank. 

At the end of the market square, a historic steam engine and the former blacksmith's shop with its well-preserved baroque hipped roof can be admired, as well as the late Romanesque brick church. 

The bascule bridge over the Storkow Canal is a spectacle, as it rises again and again as the many leisure boaters pass by. You can stroll along the canal at ground level up to the lock.

Lunch options are available at the restaurant “Alter Weinberg” and the inn “Zum Fass”.

Or you can take a short detour to the Storchenklause at Rudolf-Breitscheid-Straße 73.

A visit to the Domichowski Old Town Café is definitely worthwhile (note: stairs; however, ice cream is also brought down).

Afterwards, after returning to the castle, a visit to the regional shop in the tourist information office is recommended.
