walk through the old town

Via Schlossstraße you reach the historic market square ("Am Markt") with some attractive specialty shops, e.g. watches, shoes or flowers.

During the summer months, the weekly market (Mondays and Fridays, 8 a.m. to 16 p.m.) is an attraction.

There is a public, barrier-free toilet on the market square right next to the savings bank.

At the end of the market square, you can admire a historic steam engine and the former smithy with its well-preserved baroque hipped roof, as well as the late Romanesque brick church.

The bascule bridge over the Storkow Canal is a spectacle, as it rises again and again as the many leisure boaters pass by. You can stroll along the canal at ground level up to the lock.
