Stage 1
Müllrose to Kupferhammer • 10 km
The tour begins in the charming farming town of Müllrose, overlooking the largest lake in the Schlaube Valley. The trail leads along the shore through tall pine forests and marshy meadows to Lake Belenz with its breeding waterfowl. Here, you'll hear the whispering of the Schlaube River for the first time. Shortly after, you'll reach the Ragow Mill, a place steeped in history and perfect for a break by the rushing stream. The trail continues past wooded glacial gullies and green carpets of lichen. Short detours allow you to immerse yourself in the past at the lost-place Mittelmühle (Middle Mill) and immerse yourself in the stream's dynamics at the Meander Viewpoint, before reaching the bridge at Kupferhammer. Stage 2
Kupferhammer to Bremsdorfer Mill • 11 km
From its narrow, rushing appearance, the Schlaube River now changes its face again and again—mostly flowing leisurely and hidden among the five lakes that follow. In Siehdichum, a quiet place to rest awaits you with a charming property on a secluded hill. Enjoy magical views of glacially formed lakes until, finally, at the Bremsdorf Mill, you face the decision: Heaven or hell? Watch Stage 2 on YouTube
Stage 3
Bremsdorfer Mill to Wirchensee • 8 km
The final section becomes adventurous: the Schlaube leads you uphill, past steep hillside forests and through narrow, shady paths beneath mighty beech trees. You'll feel the elevation changes to the left and right, the steep hillside forests, before it becomes light and peaceful again and you're greeted by the clearing of the Kieselwitz Mill, where fish are still bred using the water from the Schlaube. The finale awaits you with a spectacular view of the Schlaube Canyon – a deeply incised valley section formed over millennia. Here, at the former Schlaube Mill, your journey through the fascinating Schlaube Valley ends. Watch Stage 3 on YouTube
