1st stage "Oderlandweg": Wriezen - Falkenberg/Mark

The first stage of the Oderlandweg leads over 25 kilometers from Wriezen to Falkenberg/Mark. The scenically varied tour starts in the lowlands of the Oderbruch and ends in the "low mountain range" around the spa town of Bad Freienwalde.

Arrival: From Berlin Hauptbahnhof take the RE3 (Schwedt) to Eberswalde. From here take the RB60 to Wriezen (approx. 1,5 hours).

Directions:

From the car park in Wriezen, the route goes not far from the railway line and road to Altranft (if you are coming by train, first go to the town lake/car park). Before Rathsdorf, the Stork Tower, the chimney of a former brickworks, catches your eye. The path runs along the railway line. In Altranft, the tracks are crossed. The turn through the town leads to the Brandenburg Open Air Museum in the former castle park. At the end of the town, there is a geological nature trail. In Bad Freienwalde, the Oderlandweg now runs along the route of the tower hiking trail. The path winds its way through the Freienwalder Forest in several bends before you reach the chapel. Again, several bends follow, combined with many ascents and descents, then you suddenly see an impressive ski jump complex, the likes of which are rarely found in the low mountain ranges. A path leads to the B158. After crossing it, you pass the Owl Tower. There are bends, always combined with ascents and descents, until you reach the Teufelsee. At the beginning of the ridge path there is a turnoff to the Bismarck Tower. From the Tobbenberg Hut a sunken path leads to Falkenberg.
