If you have always wanted to know what ox nose, hare heads or sheep nose are, then this gourmet tour in the Oder-Spree Lake District is just the thing for you. In Tempelberg between Steinhöfel and Müncheberg there is the oldest apple tree avenue in Brandenburg. 80 different types of fruit trees have been planted here over the past 200 years. In 1804, the then Chancellor and Count Karl August von Hardenberg had the first apple trees planted. In neighboring Müncheberg there is the Leibniz Center for Agricultural Landscape Research (ZALF), for which the avenue in Tempelberg also offers a wealth of research material. On the grounds of the fruit growing experimental station you can also enjoy fresh fruit to your heart's content during harvest time. In the restaurants along the way, apple pie is a must on the menu - fruit enjoyment all along the route.
