The old town of Storkow was built around 800 years ago, making it one of the oldest in the state of Brandenburg. When visiting the restored old town center, the wooden drawbridge over the Storkow Canal, built on a Dutch model, is a particularly striking technical masterpiece. Storkow Castle was built in the 12th century and has since been completely restored. Today it shines in all its glory as the town's showpiece and is also its social center. No matter which direction you come into Storkow from, you will inevitably come across the imposing building. It houses the Dahme-Heideseen Information Center and other special exhibitions on artistic topics. The Storkow inland dune, which is 36 m high, is an extraordinary natural spectacle. It was formed 8 to 10 thousand years ago and offers a great view down to Lake Storkow. To ensure that young visitors also get their money's worth, a visit to the IRRLANDIA interactive park in the warmer months is an exciting change.
