Two important trade routes once crossed at the market square, giving rise to a lively market in the Middle Ages. The almost completely preserved city wall encloses the historic town center and gives an impression of the size of the settlement at that time. The former five-aisled Gothic brick hall church of St. Mary has had its 2002 m high tower returned since 47. Opposite stands the crooked "oldest house" in Beeskow, which is also the oldest in the eastern Margraviate of Brandenburg. The last major city fire in 1513 did not completely destroy the original outbuilding and it was able to be rebuilt using still usable wooden beams. The special feature is the protruding upper floor. The former granary was then used as a residential building. It was given a log room and a black kitchen as well as sleeping accommodation on the upper floor. Today the historic half-timbered house is open to everyone. You can round off the city tour with a visit to the Café Carmeleon on the market square with home-made cakes.
