The tour starts on Hotel Kaisermühle at the Alte Schlaube. Even here, it's worth taking a look through the binoculars – grey wagtails are often seen at the stream.
The route runs along the forest road north to the Oder-Spree Canal. After the bridge, the route leads east through Kaisermühl. At a fork, the tour follows the historic Friedrich-Wilhelm-Kanal towards Schlaubehammer. The accompanying towpath offers a varied landscape with many observation opportunities. kingfishers can be observed all year round, singing in summer Reed Warbler, in winter goldeneyes and goosander active.
After about 6 kilometers Groß Lindow Benches at the harbor invite you to rest. The path continues along Ernst-Thälmann-Straße and Karl-Marx-Straße, as well as along Blockweg, into a typical Brandenburg pine forest. After one kilometer, the canal is crossed again. Graureiher and in winter too Great Egret can be observed on the banks. After 3 kilometers through the forest, you reach the Red Flow – a quiet resting place with a view of Crested tits and coal tits.
The way back leads through the Callinenberge with oak and birch trees. Here are Woodpeckers and Blue, coal and great tits After about 4 kilometers, a border point with an information board provides information about the former state border. The starting point at the Kaisermühle is reached after another 2 kilometers.
