City Route through Eisenhüttenstadt

The City Route through Eisenhüttenstadt offers the opportunity to take a detour from Eisenhüttenstadt train station or the Oder-Neisse cycle path into the planned city, which is only 3 km away, and to explore the area monument. The route includes the Utopia & Everyday Life Museum, the Garden Flow with numerous art objects, and the tourist information office.

Directions
For those who arrive by public transport, the best option is to cycle towards the district of Fürstenberg (Oder). Cycling along Fellerstraße, you can make a detour to Heinrich-Pritzsche-Straße, where the Fire Department and Technology Museum located.

Continuing along Fellertstraße you reach the Roßplatz Here is the monument erected in 1949 in honour of 23 members of the Dnieper Flotilla who fell in the spring of 1945 in the fighting for Fürstenberg (Oder).

Continue on Gubener Straße until you reach Straße der Republik and turn right onto it.
At the intersection of Straße der Republik / Karl-Marx-Straße, turn left onto Karl-Marx-Straße, where you will find the former restaurant "Aktivist" The house was the first HO restaurant to open on December 21, 1953, initially on a partial site. The building was fully completed in May 1954. In keeping with its character as a "large restaurant," hundreds of hot meals were served daily. The dance evenings on the upper floor, where the parquet floor was transformed into a dance floor every Wednesday evening, became legendary. 

Continue on Karl-Marx-Straße for a few more meters before turning right into Friedrich-Engels-Straße in front of the petrol station. Here you reach Erich-Weinert-Allee and thus the Museum Utopia & Everyday Life.

The City Route through Eisenhüttenstadt continues along Friedrich-Engels-Straße. On the left side is the Municipal Hospital

At the intersection of Friedrich-Engels-Straße and Fritz-Heckert-Straße, continue straight on into Maxim-Gorki-Straße. At the end you come to Diehloer Straße and the garden streamThis is a small green area with many sculptures and works of art in the open space. Coming from the city, you can take a wonderful walk from here over the rose hill to the goldfish ponds and to the district of Diehlo.

Following the City Route through Eisenhüttenstadt, you cycle past the former Hotel Lunik and the Lindenzentrum - always along the Lindenallee, where the tourist information located.
At the end of the Lindenallee turn right into Beeskower Straße and continue straight on. On this route you cross the Oder-Spree Canal and return to the Eisenhüttenstadt train station.
