Directions
Several green oases can be discovered in Frankfurt (Oder). Ziegenwerder offers a special island of relaxation. Located in the middle of the Oder, a wooden suspension bridge takes you to the unspoilt island, which is home to lizards and other native animals as well as rich flora. The island is particularly popular in summer and has a popular beer garden.

On the western outskirts of Frankfurt (Oder), near the district of Rosengarten, a wildlife park was built on a former shooting range between 1994 and 2000. The adventure playground and petting zoo attract young visitors in particular and provide a special closeness to local animals.

The "little Baltic Sea" is right outside the city gates. This is what Lake Helene is popularly known as. The "Grube Helene" brown coal open-cast mine, which was flooded after 1958, is the second deepest lake in Brandenburg at over 57 m. Its excellent water quality makes it particularly popular with divers. With an area of 220 hectares, it offers a variety of beaches and water sports such as surfing or pedal boating. It is the absolute favorite lake of Frankfurt residents, not least because of its aqua park for bathers.

If you prefer to travel by boat instead of by bike, you can charter a boat in the Marina Winterhafen without a license and experience the Oder from the water.
