Without the "Old Fritz" we would probably still be moving through the Oderbruch in rubber boots instead of on wheels. Around 1750 the Prussian king had this wetland drained. The "Old Fritz" turned swamps into fertile farmland.

Directions:
The tour starts in Golzow. Here you will find the film museum, which brings back memories of the long-running series "Children of Golzow". The tour leads south to Sachendorf, where there is a medieval church. In the direction of Alt Zeschdorf, which is located on a beautiful bathing lake, the tour passes the Pontic slopes of Mallnow. In Wulkow you will find the Ökospeicher, a converted former granary, with an organic shop and café, seminar rooms with exhibitions, as well as holiday apartments and rooms.

The tour now continues on the Oder-Neisse cycle path to Lebus. The Oder slopes are near Lebus. The mountain ridges that slope down to the Oder shine in a bright yellow in spring, as the rare Adonis flowers bloom here. In Lebus there is a museum about the Lebus region and the town church.

The next highlight of the tour is the Reitweiner Sporn. The wooded ridge is a beautiful natural backdrop that was a strategically important location for warlords of the time for around a thousand years. In the town of Reitwein there are other sights that suggest a military location: for example the Slavic castle wall, the Shukow command post and the diplomatic staircase. You can also visit the Stüler church and the flood memorial and visit the museums in Küstrin and Bleyen. The tour continues a short distance along the Oder dam before heading inland and back to Golzow.
