Directions:
The circular path around Lake Wirchensee leads through a fascinating forest scenery that changes with the seasons: In spring, the variety of green is surprising, while in autumn, the colorful leaves of the trees rustle across the ground.

On the eastern shore, many small steps lead up to the "Forest Watch," which offers a fantastic view of the lake. With a little luck, you might spot sea eagles or ospreys soaring above the water. In autumn, during the rutting season, the bellowing of stags echoes through the tall forest.

The Schlaube spring rises in the legendary Wirchen meadows and then flows through Lake Wirchen. The path now leads back along the lake's western shore. Great crested grebes, ducks, and swans glide across the still water, and the view falls upon the Waldseehotel (Forest Lake Hotel) perched atop the "Großer Horst" (Great Horst). From the large terrace, the changing colors of the forest at sunset can be impressively witnessed.
