Professional cyclists can cover the 237 kilometers of the Oder-Spree tour in one day. But there's so much to see between Erkner and Eisenhüttenstadt that it's better to slow down and ride the sections as day trips.

From Beeskow it's not far to the "Brandenburg Sea," Lake Scharmützel, as Fontane called it. Before that, the route leads through the Saarow Hills, with a worthwhile stop at the Lindenberg Weather Museum. At the historic observatory, it becomes clear how reading cloud formations can help in planning breaks and taking advantage of tailwinds.
In Wendisch Rietz, at the southern end of Lake Scharmützel, a maritime atmosphere awaits, complete with expansive lake views. Small beaches invite you to stop for a swim. The journey continues to Storkow. From the inland dune, a sweeping panoramic view opens up across Lake Storkow and the rolling, wooded landscape.
Tip: Two excursions around Storkow are particularly worthwhile: The castle offers insights into history and the Dahme-Heideseen nature park, while the weather museum provides exciting information about weather and climate.
Finally, Bad Saarow reveals itself as a sophisticated spa town, where the elegant atmosphere of the 1920s is palpable. Should the weather be less inviting, the SaarowTherme offers a relaxing alternative. The route then leads back through the idyllic Müggelspree floodplain via Spreenhagen to the starting point in Erkner.
