Directions
The bike tour begins in Neuzelle, a town with a deep-rooted monastic history. From the Baroque monastery complex, the route follows the Oder-Neisse Cycle Path toward Ratzdorf. There, at the confluence of the Oder and Neisse rivers, the gauge house commemorates the 1997 flood of the century and the town's historical significance as a former trading center in the region.
The route continues to Coschen, where the "Neisse Wave" bridge now connects Brandenburg with Poland—a modern symbol of cross-border ties. Via Breslack, the route reaches Wellmitz, the birthplace of Martinus Graff, one of the monastery's most famous abbots. In the cemetery near the church, four expiatory crosses bear witness to medieval jurisdiction.
In Schwerzko and other surrounding villages, the far-reaching influence of the Neuzelle monks, who acquired numerous estates over the centuries, is evident. The return journey leads through tranquil landscapes and smaller villages back to Neuzelle.
