A walk through the spa park, which was laid out in the 18th century according to plans by the famous master gardener Lenné, also takes you to the small chapel: here, high above the grounds of the specialist clinic, you have a fantastic view of the historic grounds with the Old Spa House, the Kurfürstenquelle and the Kurmittelhaus. The latter was built in 1788/90 by Carl Gotthard Langhans on behalf of King Friedrich Wilhelm II as a bathing and lodging house for noble guests and has been inviting guests with a completely new ambience since 2020. Bad Freienwalde's historic town center with over 100 listed magnificent villas and town houses also let the splendor of the popular spa town shine to this day. Freienwalde Castle now serves as a memorial to the former owner, the Foreign Minister of the Weimar Republic, Dr. Walther Rathenau, who was murdered in 1922.
Culture is very important in Bad Freienwalde: you shouldn't miss an event in the church of St. George, which has been converted into a concert hall, or a visit to the court theater, the Oderland Museum or the House of Nature Conservation. Individual city tours are also possible using an audio guide.
A trip to the Polish market in Hohenwutzen can be combined with the tour.
