The contrast to the pulsating city of Berlin could hardly be greater than in the water district of south-east Brandenburg, where beautiful rivers, idyllic lakes and a unique landscape make you forget the hustle and bustle of the metropolis in a matter of seconds. You can explore the tangible peace of pristine naturalness that exudes from wide meadows, fairytale forests and charming river banks on an eleven-day tour on the waters of Brandenburg from the north-eastern edge of Berlin to the Spreewald in the south.

You can experience around 180 km of pure nature by canoe on this circuit, which is unique in Europe. Hardly any other region in Germany has such diverse scenic beauty to offer as can be seen on the Märkische Umfahrt. A diverse range of animals and rare plants are at home here. From kingfishers to beavers, you can observe them on an attentive and time-consuming tour through the shallow waters. Body and mind are slowed down!

Thanks to a very good infrastructure, all places along the route are easily accessible. Between the stages, you can also spend an eventful time on land. Many historical sights, cultural highlights and leisure opportunities offer a great balance to the sporting activity in the canoe. You should definitely not leave your camera at home, because the wonderful impressions of this trip are worth capturing in pictures.
