The 23-kilometer-long panoramic tour from Strausberg to Erkner takes cyclists along lakes and unique nature to the Rüdersdorf Museum Park and lets them look into the open-cast mine that is still active today.
Tip: There are countless picnic opportunities at the many lakes along the entire route.
Length / Duration: 23 km / 1,5 h
Start / Finish: Strausberg S-Bahn station
Course: From the "Strausberg" S-Bahn station, you first follow the "Tour 5" marking through the Herrensee, Lange-Damm-Wiesen and Barnim-Hänge nature reserve to Stienitzsee. At the entrance to the nature reserve, a steep staircase forces you to dismount. If this is too difficult for you, you can bypass the obstacle along Hennickendorfer Chaussee. Continuing to follow the marking, you cycle along the banks of Stienitzsee through a shady forest area. Here the route changes and you follow the "blue dot" marking. The next stage leads along the Mühlenfließ to Rüdersdorf. The museum park on the side of the road invites you to visit its open-air industrial museum. Shortly after the lime quarry, you leave the original route for a detour to Alt-Rüdersdorf before you come across the "blue dot" marking again at Kalksee. The last stage leads along Flakensee through the "Rüdersdorfer Heide" landscape conservation area. The remaining two kilometers to Erkner train station lead through the charming little town itself.
