Directions
The hike begins on the village square in Bugk, marked by an impressive 200-year-old oak tree. From here, the route heads east to the Bugker Sahara, a vast sandy area that stretches to the Grosser Wucksee. The barren landscape is a habitat for plants and animals that are adapted to dry conditions and nutrient-poor soils.
After the first passage through the Sahara, the path leads to Glienitzberg. This 64-meter-high hill was formed during the Saale Ice Age as a terminal moraine. The short climb is worth it - from the top you have a wide view of the surrounding area. The way back leads again through the sandy landscape of the Bugker Sahara and ends back at the starting point on the village square.
Nature experiences along the route:
- Bugker Sahara: An impressive sandy landscape in the middle of Brandenburg.
- Großer Wucksee: Idyllic lake that invites you to rest on hot days.
- Glienitzberg: A relic of the Ice Age with a beautiful view.
