circular tour on the 7-Hill Trail
Gentle hills, dense forests and a legendary lake - this is what awaits hikers on the circular tour on the 7-hill trail from Bad Freienwalde. The approximately 16-kilometer-long hike leads through one of the most beautiful landscapes in the region. The start and finish of the circular tour is the train station in Bad Freienwalde.
Brandenburg's tallest tree
The hike leads through dense forests, over gentle hills and along quiet paths that invite you to linger. Shortly before the destination, you can admire Brandenburg's tallest tree. The mighty Douglas fir towers over 50 meters into the sky and is around 130 years old.
Winter magic at the legendary Baasee
A real highlight for nature lovers, hikers and connoisseurs is the round trip to Lake Baa and back to Bad Freienwalde, because Lake Baa has a very special charm in every season. Anyone standing on its shore should listen carefully. According to legend, there is a sunken chapel at the bottom of the lake, whose bells can be heard from the depths on particularly quiet days. When the lake freezes over and a blanket of snow covers the landscape, the surrounding area is transformed into a true winter wonderland. After a walk, the forest tavern invites you to warm up. The rustic restaurant has been serving hearty home-cooked food since 1972.
