Directions
Magical places, quiet lakes and winding paths like in a small primeval forest - the Schlaubetal seems to have come straight out of a fairy tale. This magical region really does exist and invites you to immerse yourself in the past on a bike tour. Here, where the Schlaube once powered numerous mills with its water, you can still experience the fascination of old mill wheels and the sound of the water.

The first mill is in Müllrose, a large brick building that is the oldest and last mill in the Schlaubetal and still grinds grain today. Even though most mills have long since ground the last grain, they still offer another pleasure today: many have been converted into restaurants and hotels, such as the Kaisermühle on the Oder-Spree Canal. A stop at the Ragower Mühle, the only one in the Schlaubetal that has preserved the old mill technology, is like a little journey back in time. Here you can not only marvel at the technology, but also enjoy delicious food.

The Schlaubetal is not only known for its mills, but also for its rich flora and fauna. With a bit of luck, a sea eagle will circle in the sky, a kingfisher will fly past or the black woodpecker will let out its hammering. The Schervenzsee is an ideal place for a rest and a refreshing swim in the clear water. At the Wirchensee, where the Schlaube rises, the Försterblick offers a magnificent view over the lake. After small climbs and rapid descents, where the wind blows around your nose, you can enjoy the peace and beauty of the Schlaubetal to the full.

Our advice: Just take a break, pause and listen to the silence.
