The banks of the Straussee are almost entirely open to the public and offer fascinating views of the old town. There are 12 information boards with information on history and the present. There are also natural bathing areas, sunbathing lawns and a boat rental service for hot summer days along the way.

  • 1 Gepkes Höhe - until 1920 the site of an observation tower for Daniel Gepke, who built and operated the first Strausberg ferry

  • 7 The “cradle” of Strausberg - In the middle of the 13th century, the town developed from a market town, former site of the monastery, today site of the district court
  • 8 The ferry “Stadtseite” - In 1894, Daniel Gepke was awarded the contract to build a ferry
  • 9 Municipal Sea Bathing Facility - The municipal bathing facility was inaugurated in 1925
  • 10 Seepromenade - with a view of the former clinic of Dr. Hamburger and the tower of the Catholic church
  • 11 Water tower - The water tower built on the Marienberg in 1910/11 is visible
