The city tour takes you past historical sights in the historic city center with a detour to the idyllic island of Ziegenwerder.

The largest hall church of North German Brick Gothic architecture stands in the market square. Its three twelve-meter-high choir windows depict the story of Christ's creation in vibrant stained glass. From a height of sixty-seven meters, one can enjoy a magnificent view over Frankfurt (Oder) and into the neighboring country.
Passing the European University Viadrina, the path leads across the island of Ziegenwerder. This truly natural island promises absolute relaxation for young and old. The former sand dune island serves as a bird sanctuary and offers habitat for over one hundred animal and plant species in its unspoiled areas.

After crossing one of the most beautiful fishing streets from the fifteenth century, you reach the three-part garden area with its rose and perennial garden and large open space. "Der Anger" is a popular leisure and cultural place for locals.
On the way to Gertrauden Park you pass the church of the same name. It houses various treasures from St. Mary's Church and is equipped with an impressive Sauer organ.
On the last section of the city tour is the main post office, which today is still a listed ensemble of a typical Prussian state building style.

To round off the day culturally, a trip to the Kleist Museum is a good idea. The life and works of the poet Heinrich von Kleist are documented there and the collections are vividly presented. The Viadrina Museum contains collections of historical objects relating to the development of the city and region as an important trade, culture and science center. In the Packhof, works of art from the Brandenburg State Museum of Modern Art can be viewed.
