If you want to take a shorter but no less impressive hike through the Schlaubetal Nature Park, you should try the one-hour hike around the Hammersee:
Length: 4 km, about 1 hour
start/finish: Parking lot Forthaus Siehdichum
Arrival & departure: From Berlin via A12 to the Müllrose exit, then via L37 and Kupferhammerstraße to Forthaus Siehdichum (approx. 1h 30min)
You lace up your hiking boots at the Siehdichum forester's lodge, where numerous signposts will conveniently guide you to the car park.
Shortly after the start you come across the forester's cemetery and the Siehdichum memorial stone opposite. It is worth investing a few minutes here and reading the information on the gravestones.
With the picturesque Hammersee always in view, you start the almost 4-kilometer-long circular tour and head off on an easy-to-walk forest path along the shore. Keep your eyes on the water every now and then and take a break on one of the benches, because you might see a kingfisher, great crested grebe or otter. You will soon cross the bridge that leads over a damp forest area between Hammersee and the large Treppelsee. Here you can stop for a photo and pause for a moment. Always along the Hammersee, which is popular with fishing fans, you then continue through colorful deciduous forests back towards the starting point.
Deeply relaxed, but perhaps with a slight feeling of hunger in your stomach, you should definitely stop by the Forsthaus Siehdichum and enjoy the cozy atmosphere on the terrace.
