If you are looking for a shorter but impressive hiking tour in the Schlaubetal Nature Park, we recommend the approximately one-hour hike around the Hammersee.
Length, duration: 4 kilometers, about 1 hour
Start finish: Parking lot at the Siehdichum Forest House
Arrival & Departure:
From Berlin via the A12 to the Müllrose exit, then via the L37 and Kupferhammerstraße to the Forsthaus Siehdichum (approx. 1 hour 30 minutes)
Directions:
The hike begins at the Siehdichum Forester's Lodge, whose parking lot is well signposted. Shortly after the start, you pass the forester's cemetery and the Siehdichum memorial stone opposite – a quick glance at the inscriptions is worthwhile. The trail then continues along an easily accessible forest path around the Hammersee, which is always in view. Several benches and rest areas invite you to linger. With a little luck, you might spot kingfishers, great crested grebes, or otters. A wooden bridge leads you over the Schlaube River, which flows through a damp forest area between the Hammersee and the Großes Treppelsee – ideal for a photo stop. The trail continues along the Hammersee, popular with anglers, through colorful deciduous forests back to the starting point.
Deeply relaxed, perhaps with a slight hunger, we recommend a stop at the Forsthaus Siehdichum to enjoy the cozy atmosphere on the terrace.
