The day begins in Neuzelle Monastery. Here you can witness a very special moment when you listen to the chorales of the Cistercian monks in the Catholic collegiate church of St. Mary in the early morning hours and the first rays of sunlight slowly flood the church.
Start/Finish: Neuzelle Monastery
Length: 37 km, Duration: 3 hours
Arrival and departure: RE1 to Frankfurt (Oder), then take RB43 towards Falkenberg to Neuzelle
Directions:
From the resort town of Neuzelle, the tour takes you along a well-developed cycle path to Möbiskruge, where you can take a short break at the small fortified church. Then it continues to Kobbeln. Just a few meters from the path is the largest boulder in the region, which made a long journey during the Ice Age. Once you arrive in Treppeln, you can make a short detour to the legendary Devil's Stone. It is not far to Henzendorf and from there you can get straight to the Reicherskreuzer Heide. From a distance you can see stones that give the impression that they are strung on a string of pearls. A detour to the boulder park is worthwhile. The stones tell their own story.
From here the path becomes a little sandy and it is recommended to leave the bike behind and walk. Just a few meters and you are in the middle of the heathland, part of the Schlaubetal Nature Park. In August/September a small purple dream blooms here when the carpet of flowers spreads out.
Time for a break with a view. From the observation tower you have the most beautiful view over the heathland and can observe the local birdlife - birdwatching. The 4 km nature trail teaches you a lot about the local flora and fauna.
On the way back to Neuzelle, the tour leads through small villages that have all retained their individuality. Here you can enjoy the idyllic village atmosphere and the landscapes that connect them.
