  • Destination: Kietz 46 15299 Müllrose
The town of Müllrose can also be discovered from the water. Müllrose, the "gateway to the Schlaubetal", is known for its beautiful, large Müllroser Lake. However, there is also a water connection between the Kleiner Müllroser Lake and the Katharinensee, which leads directly through Müllrose and offers optimal conditions for a canoe tour with the family. In just 1,5 hours, the town can be seen from a completely different perspective.

Start: Kleiner Müllroser See
Goal: Katharinensee
Length/Duration: 3 or 6 km (round trip) // approx. 1,5h or 3h

Arrival/Departure:
  • Public transport: From Berlin Hauptbahnhof with the RE1 to Frankfurt (Oder), then with the RB36 (Königs Wusterhausen) to Müllrose (approx. 1,5 hours)
  • Car: From Berlin via the A113 and A12 to Müllrose (approx. 1,5 hours).
Tour description:
The Marina Schlaubetal on the Kleiner Müllroser See is the starting point. It is only 300 meters from the Müllroser Old Town Market.
Tip: The guest house, the Schlaubetal information centre, the museum and the baroque parish church can be found at the Müllros old town market. The historic fire station from 1925 with its wooden hose tower, which is located just around the corner on Schiffbauerstrasse, is also worth a visit.

The Kleine Müllroser See is crossed towards the Oder-Spree Canal. The canal, as an important water transport artery between Poland and Berlin, is left again after 600 meters in the direction of Katharinensee. The Oder-Spree Canal flows further to Fürstenwalde and Königs Wusterhausen, via Dahme and Spree into Berlin. Commercial shipping in particular uses the canal to transport goods.

The beauty of the watercourse in the Katharinengraben, decorated with poplar trees, allows body and mind to quickly find peace again. Once you have passed under Bahnhofstrasse, you have reached the Katharinensee. Now there is a beautiful lake, which lies just 200 metres east of the Großer Müllroser See. A picnic on the beach of the Katharinensee with a lawn for sunbathing, boat and bicycle rentals and an inn with a winter garden and outdoor terrace round off a relaxing family day. The lake is also very suitable for fishing.

Tip: The romantic Schlaubetal stretches from Müllrose towards the south-east. Untouched forests, large meadows, a multitude of small idyllic lakes, the Schlaube with fish ladders, historic mills and nature trails offer the perfect nature experience. Many Berliners seek refuge here in their free time and at weekends from the noise of the big city to enjoy the unspoiled nature and soothing silence. The Schlaubetal hiking trail is a real must for those who want to explore the nature park on foot. The 25 km long hiking trail from Müllrose to Wirchensee has been awarded the “Quality Trail for Hikable Germany” by the German Hiking Association.

Nautical information: Calm waters without heavy traffic or obstacles such as locks. Canoe tour suitable for beginners and families.
