From Guben to Ratzdorf on the Neisse

Explore the Neisse: You can get into a boat (canoe, kayak or dinghy) in Guben at the Neisse terraces and let yourself drift downstream, past almost untouched nature, far away from the stress of everyday life. With a bit of luck you will spot herons, beavers and kingfishers. Depending on the water level, the numerous sandbanks invite you to take a short break.
The tour can be done individually. If you book a tour, you can contact the company expeditours, which also offers this tour as a combined canoe and bike tour.

• Start: Guben - Neißeterrassen (Alte Poststraße No. 4)
• Destination: Ratzdorf - mouth of the Neisse into the Oder

Route: Neisse terraces Guben - wooden bridge to the theater island Gubin - Grunewald Guben - railway bridge to Guben-Zbąszynek (Poland) - near the village of Groß Breesen - road bridge Coschen-Zytowan - near the village of Breslack - Krzesiński Park Krajobrazowy (Poland) - mouth of the Neisse into the Oder/Odra near Ratzdorf - Ratzdorf gauge house

shore leave:

• Guben: Gubin town and main church, Guben monastery church, Guben town and industrial museum, Plastinarium exhibition, Neisse terraces
• Ratzdorf: Picnic at the foot of the Pegelhäuschen, Ratzdorf town tour

water profile:

• downstream with a relatively high current (5-6 km/h) - paddle downstream or let yourself drift, you just have to steer "a little"
• no weirs or locks on this section
• It is forbidden to use motorboats on the Neisse.
