Directions
The tour begins at the train station in Bad Freienwalde and initially leads through the town center to the tourist information office. There, information on further tours and two vacation apartments are available for overnight stays. The trail leaves the town toward the Thuringian View, where a wide panoramic view of the Oderbruch region opens up.
The trail then leads through a densely wooded area that becomes increasingly quiet. Between the hills lies the Devil's Lake, which exudes a special atmosphere, especially during the colder months. After a brief rest, the ascent to the summit cross at 1062 decimetres begins.
The route then continues to Carlsburg Castle, which invites you to take a leisurely rest with a view of the Oderbruch region. The combination of culinary delights and expansive scenery makes this section particularly appealing.
The descent leads through the forest again and ends at the Falkenberg train station. The return journey to Bad Freienwalde is conveniently made by train.
