There are all sorts of interesting things to discover in the Brandenburg S1 region on the feeder road to the European long-distance cycle route "R5"! Diverse places in the middle of picturesque landscapes right outside Berlin's gates invite cyclists to a "trip to the country". The tour leads from Hönow underground station on the "ZR1" first to Altlandsberg. The historic town center is particularly impressive due to the ensemble of the town and baroque castle church, the reconstructed brewery and distillery and the manor house on the castle square. The route continues past the Bötzsee lido in Eggersdorf, through shady mixed forest to Strausberg, where adventure seekers can venture a detour to the ClimbUp climbing forest. From here you can reach Rehfelde through the Herrensee, Lange-Damm-Wiesen and Barnim-Hänge nature reserve with its incomparable flora and fauna. The ZR1 now meets the European long-distance cycle route "R1", which allows experienced cyclists to continue on to Märkische Schweiz. Anyone who wants to end their tour now can take the regional train RB 26 from "Rehfelde" station to Berlin.
