  • Start: Alte Poststraße 03172 Guben
  • Destination: Bollwerk 15890 Eisenhüttenstadt (Fürstenberg)
The canoe tour from Guben along the eastern river border to Fürstenberg is by no means "old hat". The pristine nature of the Neisse makes it a very popular route for water lovers. The border areas, which were rarely frequented in the past, have preserved the originality of their banks in many places. The power of the water ensures a good current at the point where the Neisse flows into the Oder. The tour therefore offers beautiful views of the natural riverbank landscape and a little bit of a thrill.

The traditional hat-making town of Guben is a suitable starting point for the "border trip" between Poland and Germany along the Oder/Neisse water border. In addition to the historic industrial sites, the town offers a beautiful view of several churches.

Tour description:
A comfortable entry into the "raging" canoeing fun is possible at the Guben Neisse Terraces. There the Neisse quickly picks up speed at 5-6 km/h and heads north. Caution is always a good companion, as the current carries you along, but does not always let you drift in the right direction. At Patzdorf the river flows into the wider Oder. Time for a short break at the gauge house.

The Oder is significantly deeper than the Neisse and, above all, considerably wider. The current is quite strong and there is a lot of boat traffic, but the view of both wide banks is a delight. The river landscape stretches out here in all its beauty. The destination of this two-day tour is on the Oder-Spree Canal in the district of Fürstenberg at the "Bollwerk". Fürstenberg is part of the industrial town of Eisenhüttenstadt and offers an interesting historical insight into the town planning and development of the former GDR. There are restaurants and other facilities here, as well as a rail connection.

Nautical information: Demanding tour. The Oder is significantly deeper and considerably wider than the Neisse. The current is quite strong.
