At the northeastern edge of the Spreewald lies the picturesque Schwielochsee. With a total area of well over 1,000 hectares, it is the largest natural lake in Brandenburg, which also has excellent water quality. In the northern part, the Schwielochsee is flowed through by the Spree River coming from the west. In addition, it is directly connected here with the Glower See and the Leißnitzsee above, Quite a lot of water - so perfect for bathing enthusiasts. There is a good swimming spot in Niewisch, for example, with a sandy beach, snack bar and camping site.
