"Klosterbrauerei Neuzelle"

brewery

The Neuzelle Monastery Brewery is located at the gates of the Cistercian Monastery of Neuzelle. It is the last producing monastery brewery in the state of Brandenburg. For over 400 years, beer has been brewed here according to old craft traditions. At first only for the monks' own consumption, later (1589) for the surrounding villages, it is now shipped worldwide on request. However, the dark brown, palatable beverage is not allowed to call itself beer, but must make do with the name "Black Abbot". But this has not diminished its popularity with visitors and locals alike.

During a guided tour of the brewery, you can look over the brewer's shoulder and learn more about the noble drink, which can then be tasted.
