Nothing is more exciting than a treasure hunt. Our treasure trove is over 250 million years old and full to the brim - the Rüdersdorf limestone quarry. On our geological tour, after a short scientific introduction in the ‘Torell Haus’, you will go with an expert tour guide to the active open-cast mine in Rüdersdorf to our large collection point.

Lost places: the area around the Rüdersdorf Museum Park has many of them. On this guided tour, you will explore the Strausberger Mühlenfließ and its foothills from the water. Passing old industrial ruins and monuments, you can gain an impression of life and work in the heyday of quicklime production in the 19th/20th century. A water adventure for the whole family.

For two hours, the herb walk takes us through the extraordinary nature of the museum park. On its 17 hectares, plants can be found in a wide variety of soil types - from dry limestone on the edge of the open-cast mine to almost swampy locations by the water of the Mühlenfließ or carp pond. This is why you can discover a particularly diverse range of wild and medicinal herbs. Our guests also learn how to identify plants with simple exercises.

In a three-hour glass bead course, you can learn about the various techniques and different design options for glass beads and then try them out yourself on the two-gas burner under supervision.

If you would like to take a short tour of the craft techniques of organ building yourself, we offer a 3-hour short course in woodworking. You will build a small organ pipe, which you can then proudly take home with you.

Accompanied painting gives you the opportunity to find inner peace and strength, to experience yourself without judgment and to receive support through special painting guidance. In addition to lithography, other classic printing techniques such as material printing, monotype, woodcut, linocut and letterpress printing can also be carried out, and even the essentials for bookbinding are available. Watercolor painting and calligraphy are also on offer.

In his creative workshops on the subject of “monotype”, Ulrich Handke gives an introduction to this versatile printing technique, which only produces unique pieces. Monotype means “one single image” - there is only one original, only one print per printing plate. The motif is applied directly to a smooth surface with wet ink and a print is made while the ink is still wet.
